Wordpress is great for what it does. But like many things, if its nots managed very very carefully it can ruin everything.
When Wordpress first came on the scene it was nothing short of amazing. It enabled nearly anyone to put up a web page with text,
images, pretty much anything. And it was so easy to use. It very quickly became the default standard. But as it grew so did the
ecosystem and so did the problems. Now, if you put up a Wordpress site its critical to pay attention to the small details. Here's
some of my first suggestions. Plugins, make sure you are only installing what is really needed and has been well tested. The
majority of Wordpress websites are compromised from old or badly configured plugins. And once someone is in they can change everything.
Another common mistake is leaving the default login page accessible. You can put up a new Wordpress site and within hours it will
be scanned by someone looking for Wordpress sites to try and compromise. Simply changing the default login page is an effecive way to
deal with this. Its not that Wordpress itself is terrible, its just the fact that its so easy to use but most don't take the time
to ensure their web site and Wordpress are secure. And that's why I don't like Wordpress.
